It always come in threes.........

It was an horrendous week last week.......

2 deaths and a terminal illness
15 and 45 is too early  to die ....1 pointless and the other suddenly
That dreaded C disease strikes again

So a poem for Ian who died so suddenly.........

God has taken you away from us and taken you to rest
It's not for us to understand, he only takes the best.
It was a sudden parting, too bitter to forget
Those who really loved you are the ones that won't forget.

Farewells were left unspoken and you gently slipped away
You left many happy memories that will never fade away.
No matter where I go, no matter what I do
I'll cherish the memories of yesterday and the laughs I shared with you.

Although we laugh and seem carefree and make no outward show
What it meant to lose you no one will ever know.
I'll treasure forever the friendship we shared. The things you did and the way you cared.
Someone to turn to, so kind and true. One in a million, I'll never forget you.

So sweet is your memory, so precious your name
Deep in our hearts you will always remain.
So until we meet again
May God hold Ian in the hollow of his hand.

Closing 2010, opening 2011

I know this blog is a bit late but as I always said at the start of last year that I would only write when the mood took me or in other words when the muse strikes me!

So let's start with the last 3 months of 2010 as I haven't told the world what I did during those months
Work - was horrendous the drive for cost savings and to cut jobs is relentless. Don't know how safe my own job is.

Culture - had dinner at The Ritz which was am-az-ing. Went to see the Book of the Dead at the British Museum.

Friends - didn't see as much of them as I would have liked but when we did meet had a fantastic time. They made my birthday really special and we had a really good laugh drinking champagne and cocktails. We had our Xmas bash as always at Imperial City and drank champagne for a change at Royal Exchange Grand Bar.

SP - he was fabulous as always, didn't see too much of him in Decemeber as both were busy but it has only made him keener for 2011!
Snow - came by the bucket load in Nov and Dec and I wished it would fuck off as it nearly ruined Xmas.

Xmas - will be known as the year of the Xbox Kinect! A great time was had by all the family.

So what for 2011......

I think my only resolution for this year will be more culture and going out, I have already got lots of outings planned -
Ballet - Romeo and Juliet

Teachers and Shingles

Think I scared SP last week by saying I would miss him when he is in Spain for 3 weeks! He went today and I convinced him that feeling low because of the virus - I have had Shingles been on anti virals for the last week and have had a rash for 2 weeks which is finally crusty and should fade! So it is good that SP is off to Spain for 3 weeks as I am not fit enough to see him. He is sooo lucky as he was in Holland for 5 days with the school just a week or so ago!

Fashionista twist!

It is the first time I have been out in two weks as I have had Shingles got this hideous rash on the right side of my chest which is slowly fading.

So had lovely time at the Berkeley Hotel for Prêt-à-Portea - the delicacies definately had a fashionista twist! The hotel is very modern and the Caramel Room was beautiful and the tea yummy - we should have asked for more sandwiches. The cakes were very beautiful almost too good to eat but not quite!

Forgot the Funky Judge!!

How could I forget about the Funky Judge - what I hear you ask???

Mate from work was on Total Wipeout on Saturday an he was being called the Funky Judge by the commentator! He was very good even though he did wimp out in the last game - if he hadn't he could have got to the final! He filmed it last November in Argentina and kept silent about it until last week when he told us that he was on!

Well done Victor you are marvellously fit for a 51 year old!

Bank Holiday blues....

Back to work and I am blue as had a lovely 4 day weekend for Easter! It was a lovely family weekend - I did baking and there was lots of us on Easter Sunday and we had a lovely meal and played on the Wii which I am still crap at but had fun.

SP is off to Holland on Friday but he is being sweet wanting to arrange to meet - circumstances mean we may not meet until May (whole of April without a shag). I don't know if he is messaging because I said I felt like he was blowing me off or he wants to borrow my Office disc for his laptop or he does care and need to see me! Who knows but I am going with the flow and not getting stressed by it and he is off to Spain at next half-term for his leaders course. I am getting attached to him and he didn't say that he was blowing me off so he must care a little???? Or am I just trying to convince myself!

RK is back from South Africa (Fb is wonderful for tracking ppl). I think he has changed his bb has he is not active on bbm so ce la vie his loss!

Need to get work head back on and get in the work zone.
